Tasks and responsibilities
As a Senior System Administrator, you will help develop, maintain and modernise the organisation’s systems and software infrastructure in a highly secure operational environment. You will work in a bilingual, multidisciplinary team and contribute to the reliability, performance and evolution of the server landscape.
Working from home two days per week is allowed.
️ Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
- Manage core infrastructure services such as GPO, DNS, DHCP and Active Directory.
- Monitor, manage and optimise virtualised environments including VMware, Proxmox and Hyper-V.
- Support storage platforms and help ensure availability, performance and continuity.
- Maintain system security, patching, backups and business continuity measures.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of robust, scalable infrastructure architectures.
- Automate recurring tasks with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl and Ansible.
- Work closely with infrastructure, network, security and support colleagues to ensure end-to-end reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system- and software-related issues.
- Take ownership of assigned work, evaluate risks and escalate when needed.
- Document infrastructure, processes and application components clearly.
- Operate effectively both independently and as part of a multilingual, interdisciplinary team.
Your profile
Experience as: Senior / Confirmed IT System Administrator- Minimum 7 years of experience in system administration across Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong expertise in system administration, virtualisation, storage and security.
- Proven experience with Active Directory and large-scale infrastructure migrations.
- Good knowledge of scripting, including PowerShell, Bash and Python.
- Understanding of infrastructure domains such as networking, security and identity management.
- Knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Analytical, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Curious, proactive and comfortable learning new technologies.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics in an understandable way.
- Discrete, reliable and stress-resistant in critical environments.
- Fluent in French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other language.
- Good written and spoken technical English.
- A TOP SECRET security clearance is required for this position.
