Randstad Digital - Security Engineer (Junior)
We are looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn Junior Security Engineer to join our team, working specifically to support the information security initiatives for one of our key clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring security professional to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.
In this challenging role, you will play a crucial supporting part in implementing and maintaining information security measures. You will work under the guidance of senior security professionals, assisting with security operations, compliance activities, and incident response efforts, contributing directly to the security posture of a significant client.
Your Responsibilities.
Assist in the day-to-day security operations, including monitoring security systems, analyzing logs, and identifying potential security incidents.
Support vulnerability scanning and remediation efforts to help identify and address security weaknesses.
Aid in maintaining compliance with information security standards, particularly ISO 27001 and NIS2 directives.
Provide support during security incidents, assisting with initial triage, data collection, and documentation.
Help in the development and delivery of security awareness materials and training for VEO employees.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of security documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports.
Assist in the configuration and optimization of security tools and technologies.
Collaborate with VEO's IT and operational teams to integrate security best practices.
Your Profile.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an IT or information security role, or a recent graduate with relevant internships.Foundational Knowledge: A basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, network security, operating systems, and common security vulnerabilities.
Certifications (Preferred, or willingness to obtain): Familiarity with ISO 27001 principles and an awareness of the NIS2 Directive.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in Dutch, English, and French (written and spoken).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Skills: Eager to learn, with good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Attitude: A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
