About the role:

For this position, fluency in Dutch is a prerequisite

Jan De Nul Group is synonymous with dredging and reclamation projects from A to Z, worldwide and at the highest level! We owe this position as a world player to our technical innovative know-how and the most modern dredging fleet in the world.

Since standing still is going backwards, we continue to invest in the future, our fleet and our personnel.

What you’ll do:

As a Tender Engineer, you play a crucial role together with the tender team in securing new projects. You are involved from the very start of each process, bringing together technical expertise, figures and ideas into a strong, well-founded proposal. You dive into new tenders, unravel complex dossiers and translate information into a clear and feasible plan. You collaborate smoothly with colleagues from various disciplines and always keep the bigger picture in view. Your role at a glance:

  • You analyse technical, legal and commercial documents and effortlessly distinguish key issues from details.
  • You translate the design into concrete execution descriptions. To this end, you draft clear, structured and persuasive texts for tenders and internal decision-making.
  • You bring together colleagues from engineering, finance, legal, QHSSE and other teams to define the right approach.
  • You keep control of costs, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and safeguard financial feasibility.
  • You work closely with the Area and Tender Manager on a technical and commercial action plan that truly makes a difference. This includes assessing execution methods, materials, risk factors and costs.
  • You summarise new tenders concisely and support management in making swift decisions.
  • You keep the database of subcontractor quotations up to date and well organised.

You won’t be doing this alone. You will be part of a close-knit team where knowledge sharing comes naturally. You learn something new every day, grow in responsibility and help build projects with a global impact.

What do you need to have?
  • A Master’s degree in Engineering
  • A strong interest in dredging techniques and complex projects
  • A sharp analytical mind and a fluent pen: you write clearly, in a structured and to-the-point manner
  • Planning and organisational skills that bring calm to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexibility and perseverance when the pace increases
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • A good command of Dutch and English

Experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Your drive, eagerness to learn and writing skills are what truly make the difference.
