Technical Business Analyst required for public sector client located in Brussels.
EU citizens only for the working location requirement.

Location: 2 days onsite 3 days remoteContract Type: 6 months + extensions (Long-term engagement)

Key Responsibilities
Technical & Functional Analysis
Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.
Collaborate with Solution Architects to align project scope with the overall system architecture.
Define and validate REST API specifications in accordance with Open API standards and Back End service design.
Support database modeling efforts, ensuring alignment between data schema and business logic.
Project Coordination & Agile Participation
Actively contribute to Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Liaise with Project Managers and Service Owners to ensure timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
Provide impact analysis and feasibility assessments for new features, change requests, or enhancements.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
Create and maintain detailed functional and technical documentation (JIRA, Confluence), including process flows, user stories, test cases, and
release notes.
Support test planning by defining test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough validation of application functionality.
Security & Compliance Awareness
Ensure security best practices are Embedded in requirements (eg, secure access via OAuth2, JWT, LDAP, RBAC).
Participate in the review of TLS life cycle and key management practices from a compliance and risk perspective.
Collaboration Across Teams
Act as the key liaison between development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure end-to-end solution quality.
Support front-end-back-end integration efforts by identifying, analysing, and resolving functional mismatches.
Coordinate with platform and observability teams to ensure appropriate logging, monitoring, and alerting (eg, ELK Stack, Zabbix).
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Technical Business Analyst or Functional Analyst role within complex Back End systems.
Solid understanding of RESTful architecture, microservices, and Back End service flows.
Familiarity with Java/Spring Boot systems, with the ability to analyze logs and architecture at a high level.
Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, and Jenkins.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams in large-scale IT environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with OpenAPI, API gateways, and enterprise-grade authentication methods.
Understanding of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, OpenShift).
Prior work with observability stacks such as ELK and Zabbix.
Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and clean architecture principles.
