Senior ICT Architect (Enterprise / Solution Architecture)

Part-time (1–2 days/month) | Contract

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior ICT Architect to support strategic architecture governance within a leading healthcare and social services organization.

In this role, you will guide architectural decisions across applications, integrations, data, and infrastructure—ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with long-term enterprise strategy.

This is a high-impact advisory role with flexible, part-time involvement, ideal for senior professionals with strong enterprise architecture experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural guidance and recommendations to the Architecture Board and project teams
• Evaluate project proposals for alignment with enterprise architecture standards
• Identify risks, dependencies, and ensure long-term sustainability (TCO, maintainability)
• Prevent fragmented point solutions by promoting integrated architecture

• Define and enforce integration principles (API-first, event-driven architecture)
• Validate integration designs (reliability, monitoring, security, versioning)
• Promote reusable integration patterns and standardized data flows

• Assess solutions (CRM, ERP, BI, document management, etc.) based on:
• Functional fit and scalability
• Integration capabilities
• Data models and reporting
• Vendor lock-in risks
• Define architectural constraints (identity, logging, performance, data retention)

• Advise on cloud/hybrid architecture, networking, identity, and hosting models
• Ensure alignment with resilience, scalability, and operational best practices
• Support enterprise-wide technology standardization

• Collaborate with security and privacy stakeholders (CISO/DPO)
• Ensure security and privacy principles are embedded in architecture
• Define risk mitigation strategies (encryption, access control, auditability)

• Support ICT experts in solution design and architectural decision-making
• Promote best practices, reusable patterns, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to architecture documentation and standards

• Extensive experience in Enterprise / Solution Architecture
• Strong knowledge across:
• Applications, integrations, data, and infrastructure
• API, messaging, ETL, iPaaS/ESB, identity & access management
• Cloud and hybrid infrastructure (networking, monitoring, backup/DR)
• Experience with technology selection and solution evaluation
• Strong understanding of non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability)
• Ability to influence stakeholders and guide strategic decisions

• Strong advisory and coaching mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strategic thinking with a pragmatic approach
• Ability to work independently in a part-time advisory capacity

• Dutch: Native / Fluent (mandatory)
• English: Professional proficiency

• Brussels-based (Koningstraat)
• 1–2 days per month (Architecture Board + ad hoc advisory)
