Student Data Engineer - Summer Internship

The Opportunity:
In this role you will:
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes across structured and unstructured data sources
- Work on machine learning and large language model (LLM) applications for automated data cleaning, classification, and enrichment
- Design and build lightweight front-end applications or dashboards that utilize previously collected and processed data
- Engage with data governance processes and frameworks to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights
- Collaborate with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify opportunities for new data products and automation use cases
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, including working under the ISO27001 framework
- Participate in digital transformation initiatives, contributing to the evolution of Linesight’s data strategy from its early phases
- Assist with documentation of data flows, processes, and models to ensure transparency and reproducibility
- Operate within the Agile workflow and contribute to each sprint's planning.
- Undertake demonstrations of current product capabilities for end-users and other stakeholders.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Have experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration
- Are proficient in Python, Java, Scala, or other programming languages
- Have working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Have exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Streamlit
- Are curious about real-world applications of machine learning and generative AI in business operations
- Communicate clearly and enjoy working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Are detail-oriented and passionate about data quality, integrity, and security
- Have basic understanding of conventions within the construction/infrastructure/utility industries (Desirable).
- Are eager to learn, adapt quickly, and contribute to a fast-growing data engineering team
